Cong leader Sajjan Kumar ACQUITTED

15:02  Anti-Sikh riots: Cong leader Sajjan Kumar ACQUITTED:   1984 anti-Sikh riots. A special CBI court has acquitted Congress leader Sajjan Kumar of ALL charges. He has been accused of murder and rioting during the anti-Sikh riots of 1984. The case pertains to violence in the Delhi Cantonment area. He has been charged with murder, dacoity, rioting, inciting violence, and damaging public property in that case. The case was registered in 2005 on the recommendation of the Nanavati Commission.



15:25  Anti-Sikh riots' verdict: Shoe thrown at judge :   The five others who are facing trial for their alleged role in the killings along with Sajjan Kumar are - Balwan Khokkar, Kishan Khokkar, Mahender Yadav, Girdhari Lal and Captain Bhagmal. They are accused of instigating a mob to attack and kill the Sikhs. Of these five, three have been convicted of murder -- Captain Bhagmal, Balwan Khokkar and Giridhari Lal. Kishan Khokkar and Mahender Yadav have been convicted of rioting. Two other accused Maha Singh and Santosh Rani have passed away.
